In part two of the “Aimee and Eric visit amazing places at the absolute wrong time of the year” series, we just spent an incredible eight days traveling around India in the middle of summer (for part one, see Nicaragua in October). The average temperature was 110 degrees F with a few days hitting 115 and the evenings cooling down to a "reasonable" 95 degrees F.
A tomb in Jaipur.
Our time was spent between Delhi, Agra and Jaipur (the capital of Indian state Rajasthan). The main purpose for being there was my co-worker's wedding in Agra (home of the Taj Mahal). But between the wedding, the food, the sights, the animals and the hotels, there is just too much to say and over a thousand pictures to go through...and as of now, I am struggling with some serious jet lag and need to get my act together for work (I've been awake since 4am this morning thanks to the time change).
All in all, aside from the heat it was an amazing trip and I will certainly update this blog with a few entries outlining the highlights from the week.
I've never enjoyed a drink more than yesterday when we returned to our apartment. I've taken ice for granted far too long (it is advised to drink only bottled water...which rules out ice despite the heat). The fact that it was bourbon is secondary.
